Deer season is our busy season

Franklin County drivers know the pattern. Late October through November, dawn and dusk, and a deer comes out of the treeline on Route 7 or one of the back roads toward Fairfield. Those impacts land square on the front clip: hood, grille, radiator support, one headlamp assembly, and frequently the leading edge of a fender.

Winter damage looks different

Salt-slick roads produce low-speed impacts into guardrails and snowbanks, and a snowbank hides whatever is underneath it. Sliding into what turns out to be a buried curb or a frozen berm does far more than the speed suggests. We check underneath rather than assuming a soft landing.
