If your vehicle will not drive, call us before you arrange anything else. We coordinate towing into our auto body shop on South Main Street so you are not making decisions from the roadside.

Say where it goes

The tow truck that shows up at a crash scene does not necessarily take your vehicle to a repair shop. Plenty of them go to storage lots that charge daily, and prying a car back out of one can take longer and cost more than the repair.

You get to name the destination. Say O'Grady's and it comes here, where it sits at no daily charge while the estimate is written and your claim opens.

Winter, and the roads around here

Most of our tow calls arrive between December and March. Black ice on Route 7, an unploughed side road toward Fairfield or Enosburg Falls, a vehicle that found the ditch and cannot get itself out.

If you are waiting, stay in the vehicle with your belt on where it is safe to do so. A car in a ditch on a Vermont back road in February is far warmer than standing beside it, and considerably safer than standing on the road.

Coming from further out

We take vehicles from across Franklin County and Northern Vermont, from over toward Alburgh and the islands, and from Northern New York on the other side of Lake Champlain. Border-crossing situations are not unusual here either, and we have sorted out vehicles that came back from Canada in poor shape.

Towing is included in many policies and normally forms part of a covered collision claim. We will tell you what applies before anything is dispatched.
